Feline aortic thromboembolism: pale hind legs

  1. Cats presenting with sudden onset hindlimb paresis due to a feline aortic thromboembolism may display changes in the pigmentation of the pads in the affected limbs reflecting changes in blood supply to the limbs. This finding may be appreciated by owners together with changes in the temperature of the affected limbs. In this young cat, the pinker coloration of the front pads is visible in the background.
