  • Generally potentiated with trimethoprim. ​

  • 4-amino-N-(2,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-4-yl)benzenesulfonamide.

  • C12H14N4O4S.

Molecular weight

  • 310.32.

Physical properties

  • Odorless or almost odorless, creamy white powder.
  • It is very slightly soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. ​

Storage requirements

  • Store at room temperature and protected from light.
  • If crystals form due to exposure to cold temperatures, either warm the vial or store at room temperature for several days to resolubolize the drug; efficacy is not impaired by this process. ​
