Overview
- Urine pH is a crude index of body acid-base balance.
- Normal urine pH in ferrets fed a high quality, meat based diet is acidic, approximately pH 6.

Methodologies
- Mix the urine specimen thoroughly.
- Pipette urine onto dipstick pads.
- Hold horizontally to avoid run-off between pads.
- Read test at correct interval.
