Prilocaine
Introduction
Name
- Prilocaine hydrochloride.
Class of drug
- Amino amide local anesthetic.
Description
- Stop injection.
- Remove EMLA cream.
- Treat symptomatically if CNS signs are evident (airway and respiratory support).
- Cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation if cardiac arrest.
- Methemoglobinemia can be treated by slowly injection 1% methylene blue at a dose no greater than 4.4 mg/kg repeated after 30 min if no response.
