  1. The acetabular fossa forms the site of attachment for the teres ligament. A lucency in the femoral head may be evident representing the corresponding attachment (fovea capitis).
  2. A very slightly bilaterally symmetric flattening of the femoral head is sometimes seen (normal).
  3. Normal irregularity on the cranial margin of the femur.
  4. Obturator foramen. Compare the bilateral symmetry of these to ensure positioning is correct.
