Uses

  • The most common reason to radiograph the hip and pelvis is to determine if there is a fracture, in which case a general anesthetic is contraindicated for at least 6 weeks.

Advantages

  • Non-invasive diagnostic technique.

Disadvantages

  • Primarily detects bony changes.
