- Worldwide.
Significance
- May colonize mucous membranes of healthy individuals; can be present in soil.
- Opportunistic pathogen; infects immunocompromized sites.
- Associated with nosocomial infections in dogs and human beings.
- Associated with urinary tract infections Cystitis , hepatic infections Liver: chronic hepatitis , pyometra Pyometra , and diarrhea in dogs.
- Opportunistic infections in other species.
