Introduction

  • Rarest form of pemphigus.
  • Ulcerative, erosive and crusting skin disease thought to be benign form of pemphigus vulgaris Skin: pemphigus vulgaris.
  • Cause: varied.
  • Signs: pustules and skin lesions. No systemic disease.
  • Diagnosis: history, clinical signs, histopathology.
  • Treatment: chemotherapy.
  • Prognosis: uncertain.

Presenting signs

  • Vesiculopustular cutaneous disorder, evolving into verrucous vegetations.
  • Nikolsky sign may be present.
  • Variable pain and pruritus.
  • No systemic signs.

Cost considerations

  • Diagnostic protocol is lengthy.
