Donna Brown

Bio

Donna qualified from Bicton College, UK in 1998 whilst working in North Devon at a mixed animal practice. She moved to Scotland in 1999 to work at the Royal Dick School of veterinary studies, Small Animal Hospital eventually going on to concentrate in exotic animal nursing. She gained her City and Guilds in Exotics in 2001. After leaving the RDSVS she joined Edinburgh Zoo. Her work includes routine in-house laboratory testing of the animals within the society, pharmacy, surgical and general nursing. Donna assists the vets with animal anaesthetics and health checks and has traveled to Cambodia with the RZSS to work with Free the Bears, also being involved with some of the conservation projects currently supported by the RZSS. Donna has lectured both qualified and trainee VNs on exotic animal nursing and has contributed to several chapters in veterinary textbooks published by the BSAVA.
