Introduction
Examination of acetate strip samples
- Tape strips can be invaluable when diagnosing superficial parasites, especially louse species Lice: overview, such as:
- Linognathus vituli.
- Haematopinus eurysternus.
- Solenopotes capillatus.
- Bovicola (Damalinia) bovis.
- Also Trombicula spp and fly eggs.
- Examination of stained tape strips is also an excellent way of detecting surface infections with bacteria or Malassezia spp yeasts.
